Privacy policy

Ripstart Designs (“we”, “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through ripstart.co.nz, why we collect it and how we look after it, in line with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.

What we collect

  • Enquiry details. When you use our contact form or email us, we collect what you choose to send, such as your name, email address, phone number, business name and project details.
  • Technical information. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested) to keep the website secure and running.
  • Your theme choice. If you switch between light and dark mode, that preference is saved in your own browser. It is never sent to us.

We do not use advertising trackers, and we do not sell, rent or trade your personal information.

How we use it

We use your information to reply to your enquiry, prepare quotes, deliver and support the work you ask us to do, and keep our business records. We will only email you about other things if you ask us to.

Who we share it with

We use a small number of trusted providers to run our business, including our website host (Netlify, which processes form submissions) and our email provider. Some of these providers store data outside New Zealand. We choose providers with strong security and privacy protections, and they may only use your information to provide their service to us.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry and project information for as long as we need it to work with you and to meet our legal and tax obligations, and then delete it securely.

Your rights

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it, at any time. Email hello@ripstart.co.nz and we will respond within 20 working days, as the Privacy Act requires.

If you are not happy with how we have handled your information, please talk to us first. You can also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.

Changes to this policy
